Zenos

Sports vehicles with great performance and low weight are made by the British automaker Zenos Cars. The firm, which is based in Wymondham, Norfolk, produces three different versions of the Zenos E10 automobile.

In 2012, the business was established in Norfolk. Ansar Ali and Mark Edwards, the founders, had previously collaborated at Lotus Cars and then at Caterham Cars.

For lightweight, modern, high-performance sports vehicles that were also reasonably priced to buy and operate, Edwards and Ali saw a market need. The founders decided on a price range that would be appealing to potential consumers before the company's initial product line, the E10 series, was built. They also assessed whether a completely new design could be produced and marketed at this price point.

In order to make sure that drivers and passengers would be both properly accommodated and thoroughly engaged, driving days with deposit holders and potential customers were part of Zenos' initial series of models' development phase.

In addition to his seven years as Principal Engineer at Tesla, Chief Engineer, Body at Caterham Technology and Innovation (CTI), and positions at Lotus Cars, Nissan, Volvo, and Daewoo, Matt Windle, the company's Operations Director, joined the organization in October 2015. He brings production expertise to the table. The engineering of the vehicle and preparing it for manufacturing was heavily influenced by Chris Weston, Head of Development.

Following a succession of canceled export contracts, Zenos was put into administration on January 16, 2017. The administrators, Begbies Traynor (London) LLP, announced they were willing to engage with anybody interested in safeguarding the company's future. In March 2017, a group headed by Alan Lubinsky's AC Cars bought the business and its assets.
