History of Ferrari
Ferrari, officially known as Ferrari S.p.A., has a rich heritage that dates back to its founding in 1939 by the visionary Enzo Ferrari (1898–1988). Here are some key points from Ferrari’s remarkable journey:
Scuderia Ferrari Origins (1929–1937):
Enzo Ferrari’s passion for racing began early. In 1908, at the age of ten, he decided to pursue a career in racing.
During the 1920s, Enzo worked for Alfa Romeo as both a driver and an employee in their Milan sales depot.
In 1929, he broke away to form his own racing team, which he named Scuderia Ferrari.
Scuderia Ferrari was initially conceived for gentleman drivers and amateurs, with financial support from local backers.
The team’s first race was the 1930 Mille Miglia, using cars supplied by Alfa Romeo.
The iconic Prancing Horse logo made its debut at the 1932 Spa 24 Hours.
Becoming Ferrari (1940–1947):
Ferrari’s journey continued, and in 1940, the company built its first car.
By 1945, the brand adopted its current name, Ferrari S.p.A., and began producing road cars.
The 125 S, painted in the original Ferrari color of ‘Rosso Barchetta’, secured the brand’s first race victory at the 1947 Grand Prix of Rome.
