Peterbilt Motors Company is an iconic American manufacturer specializing in heavy-duty and medium-duty trucks. Founded in 1939 by T.A. Peterman, the company emerged from the Pacific Northwest logging industry. Peterman sought to modernize log transportation and acquired surplus military trucks, which he refurbished and upgraded. He later purchased the assets of Fageol Truck and Motor Company, laying the foundation for Peterbilt.

Peterbilt's early models, such as the Model 260 and Model 334, were designed for logging and highway freight transport. The company introduced innovations like all-steel cabs and advanced braking systems. Over the decades, Peterbilt became synonymous with quality, durability, and craftsmanship, with its trucks recognized by the iconic red oval logo introduced in 1953.

In 1958, Peterbilt was acquired by PACCAR, a global leader in truck manufacturing. Today, Peterbilt continues to produce cutting-edge trucks, including electric and zero-emission models, while maintaining its legacy of excellence.
