Pegaso

Pegaso was a Spanish brand established in 1946 by ENASA (Empresa Nacional de Autocamiones S.A.), following the nationalization of Hispano-Suiza's Barcelona factory. The brand initially focused on commercial vehicles, producing trucks, buses, and armored vehicles. However, Pegaso also ventured into sports cars, creating the iconic Pegaso Z-102 in the 1950s. This car was a technological marvel of its time, featuring a rear-mounted transaxle, a V8 engine, and advanced aerodynamics. The Z-102 was one of the fastest production cars of its era, capable of reaching speeds over 250 km/h.

Despite its engineering brilliance, Pegaso's sports car production was limited, with fewer than 100 units built. The company eventually shifted its focus entirely to commercial vehicles. Pegaso became a leading European manufacturer of industrial vehicles, exporting to markets in Europe and Latin America. In 1990, Pegaso was acquired by Iveco, marking the end of its independent operations.
