Askam

Askam was once known as "Chrysler Sanayi" when it was first established in 1962 as a joint venture with 60% of the ownership held by Chrysler. In 1964, the Fargo, Desoto, and Dodge brands began producing trucks. The majority of the vehicles produced incorporated a cab and front end created by Chrysler especially for production in underdeveloped nations. Askam utilized a modified version of this taxi until it filed for bankruptcy.

Chrysler sold its ownership stake to Tatko, Iftçiler & Ruşensad in 1978, who were then the local partners and owners. Under the terms of the Chrysler's license, Askam kept producing. Askam mostly utilised Perkins diesel engines in their creations.

Askam was a Turkish truck and commercial vehicle manufacturer (official name: Askam Kamyon Imalat ve Ticaret A). The business was founded as a joint venture with Chrysler, a US-based firm, and sells its goods under the Dodge, Fargo, and DeSoto brands. Turkey's largest truck manufacturer was Askam.
