Apollo

A new generation of street-legal, race-ready sports cars was envisioned by Roland Gumpert in 2001. At the end of 2001, Roland Meyer, the founder of Motoren Technik Mayer and a former coworker of Gumpert's at Audi, requested him to help create a prototype sports vehicle. Gumpert's participation in this project was permitted by Audi under the proviso that the new sports vehicle would not be a prototype but rather a series model.

Under the name "GMG Sportwagenmanufaktur Altenburg GmbH," the business was established in 2004. Marco Vanetta developed the technical specifications and created the initial automobile concepts. After Vanetta finished this procedure, the first 1:4 scale replica of Gumpert's automobile was created in 2002

After Vanetta finished this procedure, the first 1:4 scale replica of Gumpert's automobile was created in 2002

In collaboration with the Technical University of Munich and the Ingolstadt University of Applied Sciences, Gumpert proceeded to develop the vehicle that is now known as the Apollo. With the building work, computer calculations, and wind tunnel testing, they helped him. The first full-scale model's design was influenced by the research and development that went into it. Two prototype automobiles were eventually built. In October 2005, the Apollo's manufacturing process began. Throughout the Apollo's production life, several variations were offered.
